First person shooters - in a first person shooter you play holding your weapon and you cant see the character's body.

Music - music you are playing an instrument to the song E.G Guitar Hero or with other games you can be singing on a microphone like you would on a karaoke machine E.G singstar

The word genre means a category of a type or sort of thing put into what it is based on e.g. action.

Video games are put into genres to let you know what type of game it is.
